Description

According to the language of flowers, the sunflower is considered a bearer of joy and cheerfulness precisely for its large inflorescence that seems to smile, but also for its bright yellow color which shines like a “little sun”. The way a sunflower stands with its petals towards the sun is also symbolic.

It is a lucky charm for who ever is moving into a new place or is starting a new job. Giving this flower is also a sign of gratitude.

For us Sicilians, the sunflower is the symbol of Summer and we call it “Curuna di re” (king’s crowns)!

One legend related to this flower is about nymph Clizia who was madly in love with Apollo. Every time Apollo passed in the sky carrying the sun, Clizia looked at him and followed him with her eyes. Apollo, however, was not in love with her and after nine days he transformed her into a sunflower.

ORDERING FROM THE UNITED STATES

NO VAT: You have the advantage of not paying the Italian VAT (Value Added Tax).

This means you don’t pay the 22% Italian Sales Tax of the selling price applied in Italy and the EU.

DUTY-FREE: Shipments with a total value of less than $799 USD are not subject to custom duty and tax.

This means that orders shipped with a value of $799 USD or less enter the U.S. Duty-free and have a simplified American import customs procedure. This amount includes shipping costs and is referred to based on the current US Dollar – Euro rate.

This rule applies to shipments made by a private individual in the United States applicable to only 1 order per day.

If the total value of your order is $800 USD or more, your shipment may be subject to custom duty and import taxes.

Customs duty is a tax imposed on goods when transported across international borders. These taxes are collected by the Customs Agency. The custom duty and import taxes on a shipment will be charged to you. In order to receive the package, you will be required to pay these additional taxes. It removes about 98% of duties on imports of goods whose origin is the European Union, simplifying and making imports and exports less costly.

CETA applies to duties, but not taxes. Therefore, any applicable GST/HST/PST for imports into Canada will be assessed accordingly (approximately 10% – 15%).
