Sicily has a millenary tradition in the production of ceramics and today Sicilian pottery is among the best-known and appreciated in the world.

The art of pottery making is a very elaborate handicraft that requires a lot of skill and patience.

This elegant pottery necklace is inspired by the traditional Sicilian cart.

The Sicilian cart (or “carrettu sicilianu” in Sicilian) is an ornate, colorfully decorated horse or donkey-drawn cart native to the island of Sicily. Carts were introduced to the island by the ancient Greeks at some point between the 8th and 5th centuries B.C.

This is now one of the most famous symbols of Sicily in the world!

ORDERING FROM THE UNITED STATES

NO VAT: You have the advantage of not paying the Italian VAT (Value Added Tax).

This means you don’t pay the 22% Italian Sales Tax of the selling price applied in Italy and the EU.

DUTY-FREE: Shipments with a total value of less than $799 USD are not subject to custom duty and tax.

This means that orders shipped with a value of $799 USD or less enter the U.S. Duty-free and have a simplified American import customs procedure. This amount includes shipping costs and is referred to based on the current US Dollar – Euro rate.

This rule applies to shipments made by a private individual in the United States applicable to only 1 order per day.

If the total value of your order is $800 USD or more, your shipment may be subject to custom duty and import taxes.

Customs duty is a tax imposed on goods when transported across international borders. These taxes are collected by the Customs Agency. The custom duty and import taxes on a shipment will be charged to you. In order to receive the package, you will be required to pay these additional taxes. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a free trade agreement between the European Union and Canada that aims to boost trade and support growth and jobs. It removes about 98% of duties on imports of goods whose origin is the European Union, simplifying and making imports and exports less costly.

CETA applies to duties, but not taxes. Therefore, any applicable GST/HST/PST for imports into Canada will be assessed accordingly (approximately 10% – 15%).
