This handmade and hand-painted t-shirt belongs to our original Sicily Lover t-shirt collection. All our Sicilian t-shirts strive to preserve the soul of “Sicilianity” and reflect our lifestyle.

This one is inspired by prickly pears pads, named “Ficurinnia” in Sicilian language.

The origins of the Opuntia Ficus Indica, the botanical name of the prickly pears, date back to the Spanish domination in Sicily during the fifteenth century, when they were imported from south and central America to Sicily.

Its pretty funny how a plant that is not even native can get naturalized and integrated so much into our Sicilian culture

Prickly pears are now one of the most famous symbols of our landscape and they also produce tasty and healthy fruit.

This is a machine washable t-shirt, wholly hand-painted in Sicily using colors free of any harmful substances.

Furthermore it is hand-painted with original designs created by the most talented Sicilian artists who only use high quality colors: they are pleasantly soft to the touch, vibrant, intense and lightfast.

International tax policies are different in each State but we want to make things easier for you.

In some countries like the U.S. we can offer you the benefit of having duty-free items therefore we display prices without custom duty and taxes.

ORDERING FROM THE UNITED STATES

NO VAT: You have the advantage of not paying the Italian VAT (Value Added Tax).

This means you don’t pay the 22% Italian Sales Tax of the selling price applied in Italy and the EU.

DUTY-FREE: Shipments with a total value of less than $799 USD are not subject to custom duty and tax.

This means that orders shipped with a value of $799 USD or less enter the U.S. Duty-free and have a simplified American import customs procedure. This amount includes shipping costs and is referred to based on the current US Dollar – Euro rate.

This rule applies to shipments made by a private individual in the United States applicable to only 1 order per day.

If the total value of your order is $800 USD or more, your shipment may be subject to custom duty and import taxes.

Customs duty is a tax imposed on goods when transported across international borders. These taxes are collected by the Customs Agency. The custom duty and import taxes on a shipment will be charged to you. In order to receive the package, you will be required to pay these additional taxes. They may be paid by credit card directly to the courier.

TIPS: If your order is over $799 USD you may still benefit from the Duty-free advantage and save money: we suggest that you divide your order into smaller amounts on different days and limit each order to less than $799 USD.

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a free trade agreement between the European Union and Canada that aims to boost trade and support growth and jobs. It removes about 98% of duties on imports of goods whose origin is the European Union, simplifying and making imports and exports less costly.

CETA applies to duties, but not taxes. Therefore, any applicable GST/HST/PST for imports into Canada will be assessed accordingly (approximately 10% – 15%).

We are not responsible for the payment of Customs duties and taxes. They may be paid by credit card directly to the courier.
